If you enjoy reading content on this site and actually took the time to read this about page, then thank you! My name is Dan and the reason I created this site is primarily for a few different reasons: to help “the common man” make better financial decisions, to help myself make better financial decisions, and to make money online.
I’m not “rich” or “elite” in any way. What I’m doing here is a journey to understand all aspects of money better.
Have you been working your entire life, and yet are somehow still in the red? Literally years of effort at your job and yet remain crippled with thousands, tens of thousands, or even hundreds of thousands in debt? That’s what this site is about.
To be clear, I am not a financial advisor or multi-millionaire telling you my secrets (obviously). This is my personal journey to getting out of the red financially and turning things around. You’re welcome to join along the ride or watch from a distance.
I started this site in 2020 and that was the year I really started setting goals for myself. Like most Americans, I’ve lived paycheck to paycheck my entire life. Up until recently, any time I would get money, I would spend it, and usually on things that weren’t building wealth.
For the first time in my life, I have a budget forecasted 6 months into the future, I track my net worth, and I’m not living in nearly as much stress to pay my bills.
That was me for as long as I can remember. Living on the edge, only not in a cool way like the Aerosmith song, but in a stressful, how can I pay my bills way. Not cool at all.
This is everything I wish I would have known when I was younger.
In 2020 when I started this site my net worth was literally next to nothing. Now I track and build it.
By the way, this was in my late 3os. So barely had anything after working for almost 2 decades. Kind of pathetic really.
That was me simply me being completely ignorant about money. I also had this mindset of not really wanting to know where I was at, and not really wanting to keep a budget because it was depressing to think about. Don’t do that.
I realize I’m not alone with a lot of this.
Currently, almost 4 out of 5 Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. We need to put a stop to the debt snowball we are building and turn this around.
The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. But does it have to be this way? Can we dig ourselves out and reverse course?
I aim to tackle some of the financial issues we all face daily and to somehow shed light on how we can break out of this cycle and join the small percentage of people that don’t have to worry about paying their bills each month.
It seems like an alternate reality sometimes, but the fact is that people are doing it living their best life while many of us live our financial lives in the red.
Seriously. Let’s stop the financial bleeding. Let’s stop looking away and start focusing on getting out of the red. Cheers.
